From Amanda Vance’s 2023 Inktober Series, where each piece was first drawn directly on vintage 1960s dictionary pages inspired by daily word prompts.

For the word “Spicy”, Amanda transforms the page into a darkly playful label design. A black widow spider looms over a hot sauce bottle marked “No Survivors,” its web sprawling across the surrounding text. Equal parts eerie and tongue-in-cheek, this illustration blends the Halloween energy of a previous prompt, Spiders which shares the dictionary page with the word Spicy.
